A price, not a meter.
Your quote is fixed before we build, priced in units you can see. No day rates, no burn-down and no surprises at the end of the month.
Everything is priced in slices
A slice is one releasable increment of your product: sign-in, search, the checkout. Small enough to ship inside a week, complete enough to use the day it lands.
quote = slice count × unit price
Your quote is a slice count at a fixed unit price, set in Shape. Add a slice, add the price of one. Swap a slice you haven’t started for one the same size, free.
Concept to proof
The arithmetic, in the open: Shape £4,500 + 6 slices × £3,500 (£21,000) + Run £5,000 − Shape credit £2,250 = £28,250.
How many slices? Shape decides it: a reasonable first product is 6 slices, and 4 to 8 is the usual range. Fewer than 4 rarely proves anything; more than 8 is usually delaying real user feedback.
Shape
£4,500
Receive a product definition, slice map, interactive prototype and a fixed quote to take into the next phase.
Prove + Build

Run
£5,000
Receive a usage review, a hardening slice, and the final Proof report ending in a decision for you.
Every phase stands alone. Stop after any of them and keep everything. Prices are reviewed quarterly; your quote is fixed at Shape and stays fixed.

Run continues, month by month: one slice, support, and a monthly insight review. The same process, the same weekly update.
Three-month minimum, billed monthly in advance.

Asked, answered
What exactly is a slice?
One releasable increment of your product, listed and priced in your slice map at Shape. The quote is a sum you can check, not a number you have to trust.
What if it takes you longer?
Our problem, not yours. That’s what fixed price means. The milestones are dated, the price is signed, and the 30-day warranty covers what ships. Overruns cost us, never you.
What happens after day 90?
The Proof report ends in a decision: continue, hand over, or stop. Continue usually means Run, a monthly partnership. Hand over means a documented transfer to your own team; everything already lives in your accounts. Stop means you walk away with the code, the record, and the answer.
What if I already have a prototype?
Bring it. A Replit, Lovable or Bolt prototype that hit its limits is a valid starting point for Shape. It tells us what you want better than any brief. We’ll turn it into a product.
